TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about converting their Non-B visa to a Non-O visa, indicating plans to resign from teaching to pursue online work. Comments suggest clarifying the specific type of Non-O visa desired (such as retirement or spouse visa) and highlight the necessity of obtaining a work permit for any employment in Thailand, including online positions.

Are you on a visa or an extension of stay? You will need a work permit if your work is in Thailand, online or otherwise, so make sure what you want to change to supports that

I have been working online/remotely for a few years now, mostly on tourist visas. There *may* be tax concerns in the future but mostly if you are not taking a job from a Thai person, there are little concerns about working online.

I work for an American based company. So my funds come from abroad. I am currently only on a non b until the end of august.

but is it a visa or an extension of stay? An extension will be marked as such in your passport

Non O? Retirement visas? Or which visas do you want to convert to? Or want to resign and hop on the spouse's visa?

the spouse extension is all about what type of teaching. If your spouse is teaching at the university level then you could get a spouse extension, but if it is just teaching English then there is no spouse extension available.

you are wanting to get a type O extension based on working spouse from your current type B visa extension. You should be able to do that inside Thailand, as long as your wife's teaching job allows dependents. Not all do.
