Can my DTV be approved while I'm in Thailand after applying from Japan?

This question gets asked so much, the first line in the bloody application is MAKE SURE YOU STAY IN THE COUNTRY YOU ARE APPLYING IN. I know it’s very difficult for some to read or understand 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤣

People have left the country they applied in, and received the visa, while others have been rejected, or asked to supply a copy of every page in your passport, including the blank pages. This is usually the sign they don't believe you are still in the country. Others, when that country's Thai embassy checks with the local immigration to check your status, and see you left that country, they reject you, with no explanation, and no response to calls, or emails.

I assume you also followed the Thai embassy in Japan’s policy that your financial documents and employment contract need to be notarized by your embassy or they won’t process your DTV.

You should go back to Japan as soon as possible, they might have leniency and still approve your Visa if you're there when you get it, but they are within their rights to reject your application because it says that you're supposed to stay in the country where you applied until you are approved. We've seen people in this group lose their application fee and have to start over because they left the country they applied in before it was approved, sometimes people get lucky and don't get caught but more often than not they will ask for updated proof of location which requires you to be there if your application takes longer than a few days to be approved.

For applying DTV, one has to be in the country where it's been applied from and needs to continue to be there till the processing is over.

While there is an outside chance that this breach isn't noticed but if it's captured then the application stands a chance of being cancelled.

The rules are clear. You have to stay in the territory of the embassy you applied, in your case Japan.

That said there have been people that received their DTV even though they had already entered thailand again AND there have been people denied for that as well. It will all depend on how thorough that embassy is.

Where to even start with this one. I think you should understand the rules for a visa before you apply for one. My guess is you are in Thailand visa exempt not on a tourist visa, and your DTV would be cancelled since you are in Thailand, however I am not an expert I am just guessing based on previous posts.
