Hi, I'm just looking for some help. I'm in the process of applying for a DTV (workcation) from the UK. Can any one share a template of an employers letter confirming remote working status? Is there anything else required in this letter? Also, when booking a flight, can I book a return assuming I have the DTV (ie in 180 days time), or should this be within the next 60 days (assuming I enter on a tourist visa)?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking guidance on applying for a Digital Workcation Visa (DTV) from the UK. They are asking for a template of an employer's letter to confirm their remote working status and inquiring about additional requirements for the letter. They also question the timeline for booking their return flight, specifically if it can be booked for 180 days in advance or within the next 60 days due to entering on a tourist visa. Community comments suggest that a flight booking is not necessary unless requested, emphasize the need for the applicant to remain in the UK during the application process, and advise including permission for remote work in the letter.

If you are applying in the UK Thai Embassy using the Evisa online application system....You MUST be in the UK and stay in the UK until the DTV visa decision is known

Chatgpt will give you a template of a letter. Make sure it includes a line giving permission to work remotely in Thailand

You don't need to book a flight unless the embassy specifically asks to see a ticket. Application form only asks about intended or proposed dates of travel.
