Hello! Can someone please help me. Looking to move over to the DTV (currently on education visa). Will either go back to the UK and apply there or Vietnam. I am self employed but do not have a registered company. Is this an issue? I read somewhere you just need a website and portfolio + proof of income. Any advice would be appreciated. How long does it take to be approved (UK and Vietnam)?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on transitioning from an education visa to a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while being self-employed without a registered company. They are considering applying for the visa from the UK or Vietnam and are unsure about the requirements related to proof of income. Various comments suggest that proof of income is necessary, even if derived from freelance work on platforms like Fiverr. Another user shares their recent success in obtaining a DTV without a registered business, highlighting the importance of a portfolio for the application. Additionally, suggestions include demonstrating skills through courses like cooking or Muay Thai. There is a note about needing an accountant's letter for visa applications in the UK, which could apply to the user's situation.

Just book a cooking or muay Thai course.

For UK I had to have an accountants letter for Ltd. likely it’s the same for sole trader.

Hello, I would greatly appreciate if you could share the portfolio with me as well. I am also self employed with no registered business. My financials and T4's (proof of annual income from Canada gov) meet both the annual and saving requirements...but I am unsure how to document my consulting work.

I think you need to proof the source of income coming from even when it's Fiver for example. Somehow I think u are registered in a way and thats something you can show.
