I am inquiring about financial requirements for marriage visa. I know I need 400,000 baht in Thai Bank two months before applying. Can this be in a joint account with my Thai wife or must it be in my personal account?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To qualify for a marriage visa in Thailand, an applicant must maintain a minimum balance of 400,000 baht in a personal bank account for at least two months before applying. If the funds are held in a joint account with your Thai spouse, the required balance increases to 800,000 baht, as the amount is divided among the joint account holders.

Money in the bank is divided by the joint account holders. This means you need if you hold an account with you and your wifes name, the minimum balance must be 800.000 Thb. If the bank account is only in your name the minimum balance must be 400.000 Thb.

and that double the amount in a joint account is ONLY if your immigration office would accept a joint account for banked money for your extension. Not all will :O
