I'm applying for soft power for medical treatments from Australia, my question at the moment is about the 500kTHB, we only have a joint bank account as I don't work, I am fully supported by my husband, is that ok for the application, once approved, will be applying for my husband via the spouse route

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the application for a Thai soft power medical visa requiring 500k THB in a bank account. The applicant has a joint bank account with their husband and seeks clarification on whether this is acceptable. Community comments highlight variations in embassy requirements regarding joint accounts, with some suggesting that funds may need to be doubled due to ownership split, while others recommend confirming the specifics directly with the embassy. Additional advice includes providing a sponsorship letter from the husband.

As I understand it, the account can’t be joint account. Most Thai visas stipulate this.

Ask your husband to make a sponsorship letter for you.

Apply twice from the main applicants DTV e-visa account. Maybe with a cover note explaining the funding scenario on the main DTV application before submitting the second application, hopefully they will respond. But yes, contact the consulate first to confirm the process and your funding situation.

I thought I had to apply first, then do hubby's spousal application as for that my visa number will be required.

I've tried contacting the embassy, but they haven't got back to me, that was over a week ago

Sorry, I got kerfuffled. I meant to simply say 2 applications from the same account since it's family. And yes look for their Facebook page possibly to msg them. I edited my original reply

Not sure on this one. Probably embassy specific in any case.

Usually for getting in country visas and extensions if they allow a joint account then the funds must be double, because they see the funds as half yours and half the other holders.

I haven’t seen any posts from others that have tried this so probably best to contact the embassy you’re going to use and ask.

our funds will be definitely more than doubled, I've tried contacting the embassy in either Sydney or Canberra, can't remember which one as I just followed a link to contact, that was over a week ago and not heard anything from them
