TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about updating their immigration address before moving from Roi Et to Bangkok. According to the comments, it is preferable to update the address once settled in the new location, as no fee is typically required. Necessary documents include passport copies, TM30 form, and the landlord's ID and house registration documents. If renting a condo, obtaining a confirmation letter from condo management along with the rental agreement is advisable. Users also mention that any temporary travel after registering the new address in Bangkok would require re-filing the TM30 upon return.

When does someone need to do a TM30 is it when you finish staying in hotels and get a long term condo. I thought it was landlords that did TM30. Thanks.

within 24 hours of arrival at your new abode (or next day when immigration is open). Technically it’s the landlords responsibility to do it, and they get the fine if they don’t. In practice many won’t do it or can’t for whatever reason and it’s down to you to file one or you’ll will cop the fine. If you can’t get the right documents from your landlord to do it yourself you could always check in to a hotel the day before going to immigration and ask them for a screenshot of them filing it on your behalf (or the printed page they give to immigration because the online system is down).

After TM30 reporting is done, if I go vacation to Phuket for few days and then come back to my registered address in BKK, do I need to complete TM30 again?

Yes, I spent a couple of nights in a hotel once, and when I applied a few months later to get a visa extension immigration warned me that I haven't reported that I went back home after that holiday.

Thanks. Just interested to know, in that case, did the immigration staff still allow you to extend your visa, and what did you require to do at that moment?

@Bang ****
They were friendly, I went to the address reporting counter with the usual documents (my house booklet) to update and then back to the extension counter, no problem. Oh and I took a selfie too.

If you are renting a Condo , the Condo management or Jurasic team can verify that you are renting with a signed rental agreement and letter of confermation . Just done it myself .
Malcolm *******
Yes along with the Rental agreement , thats what I did anyway , without any problems , here in Pattaya .

so I need to get a letter of confirmation from condo management right? That’s all?

You need a lease. Be sure that the lease includes the documents proving the person renting to you on the lease is the owner of the condo (not good at remembering the names of these things). But one looked like a deed to a house with the floor plan. Also the owners ID card copy. If they are used to renting to foreigners they should (are supposed to) do it for you. Make sure you get the receipt.

If you have to do it yourself you need those documents.

what kind of receipt ? Yes I getting the lease + owner ID card and condo house book. Now the question is if I have all the document I need to do it at Bangkok? Or I can go to roi et and settle it too?
Steve **********
@Canice *****
you have to go to Muang Thong Thani immigration office in BKK. Go to the 2nd floor and report your address there. If you do it yourself you fill out a TM47 and the receipt is the bottom of the page

I can ask owner to file right? Because I rent the condo from agent..
Steve **********
@Can***
the agency should/could do it. My agent did mine.

But It really depends on the owner. My friend rented from the same agent but his owner is more hands on and did it herself.

Your new landlord “should” do it for you. However many don’t won’t. To self file you need your passport copies, TM30 form. Copies of your landlords Id and tabien baan. Easier if you can get them to come with you.
Stuart *********
You update it in your new location. No fee.

@Canice *****

thank you. Means will be long queue for me 🥲 do I go to thong thani?

@Canice *****
no. You’re reporting your move TO your new locations office. Not reporting that you intend to move to XYZ location.

if I staying at ratchada.. which is the nearest immigration? Sorry I first time stay at bkk.. I only stay at roi et

I’m sorry I’ll have to defer to others that know that area. I don’t. In general in Bangkok TM30 reporting is done at Muang Thong Thani, but as to the specific areas of which office handles which areas I don’t know. Edited to correct 90 day reporting to Tm30
