I've been living under a rock the past year so sorry if my question is obvious. I would like to move to Thailand in September or October, will arrive on tourist visa stay 60 days and extend another 30 and border run til I get a more permanent visa solution. This is what I did pre covid but how has it changed now? Is the Thai embassy website (UK) updated regularly? I imagine quarantine will still be in place by then, any tips/advice for doing that with a toddler? Thank you! :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to move to Thailand in September or October and inquires about changes in visa rules, specifically regarding border runs and tourist visa extensions since pre-COVID times. The responses indicate that border runs may not be possible in 2021, with advice to obtain a single entry tourist visa and look for longer-term visa options. Uncertainties about quarantine measures and entry requirements are also noted.

I’m shutting this down. This isn’t a general chit-chat group. I think the ops question has been answered.

border runs will most obviously not be re-introduced this year. Why not wait a little longer until the clouds have cleared, by 2022, and multi entry tourist visa become available again ? Open land borders and the multi entry tourist visa will allow both of you much longer stays

No one can tell you what the entry requirements will be when you want to come here just like no one can predict when the borders will open.

I'd certainly plan that you're NOT gonna be able to border bounce. Your best bet would be to get a single entry tourist visa, that will stamp you in for 60 days and you can get a 30 day extension at the immigration office for 1900baht. During that time LOOK for longer term visa options.
