Hi. I'm currently on an extension based on a Non-O visa and been so for many years. Now I'm thinking about getting the next year's extension on my son instead. Do i have to apply for a new visa for this or am I good?
Also, does it require more or less paperwork than the spouse one?
And is it the same requirement of 40.000 B per month?
This spouse extension is a nightmare every time.
Even we are showing up with all the correct papers this officer always need something different.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering switching their Non-O visa extension, which they have held for years, to their child's extension instead. They inquire whether a new visa application is necessary and how the paperwork requirements compare to extending a spouse visa. Comments indicate that changing the reason for the extension involves similar financial requirements, with either a monthly income or banked money method. However, it may require more paperwork, including documentation related to the marriage and additional proofs regarding the child.
