TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a spouse visa under a husband's Non-O retirement visa, it's generally noted that trailing spouses do not need to provide proof of funds. However, if the spouse is under 50, they might need to apply for a dependent visa instead, as spousal extensions of stay are only available for those over 50.

If you are under 50, then you will not qualify for spousal extensions of stay. You will need to reply for dependent. Over 50 no problem

correct. But it is not a spousal, it has to be a dependent if under 50.

Spousal would be if you were married to a Thai, not a foreigner. If married to a foreigner it would be a dependent visa regardless of age.

I just completed the process. My wife, under 50 was not allowed on my retirement Non O. She had to get a non o, then was added as my dependent.

Your under 50 wife can “piggyback” off a retirement year extension of stay. To do so she would have to first obtain a Non O visa which she’d have to obtain from overseas. When that’s winding down she can apply for an extension based on your long term extension.

Trailing spouse does not need to show any proof of funds normally.
