DTV holder entry requirements.

Hi,

My gf and I are moving to Thailand on a DTV visa for workation. We plan to be there around 2 years, exploring Asia and working remotely (my gf works as a freelancer and I own a company).

We've seen a ton of information online about entry at the airport being a potential issue.

Can anyone share a list of things we must have upon entry to ensure we will be fine and have a smooth entry experience?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
Holders of a DTV visa entering Thailand should be prepared with specific documentation to ensure a smooth entry experience. Essential items include a valid passport, printed DTV visa, Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), boarding pass, proof of onward travel, accommodation details, and proof of funds (20,000 THB in cash, or 40,000 THB for families). It's also advisable to have evidence of remote work capabilities. While not every visitor will be asked to show all these documents, being prepared can help avoid delays at immigration.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Thanks. We'll bring cash.

Kind of crazy that I hear so much about the cash, and the consulate in Spain told me that we only need Visa and TDAC...

Ofc we can prove the work part easily with our phones and access to internet.

Thailand Immigration CAN ask these questions to every visitor:

Not every visitor is asked to show all 7 points, it all depends on the Immigration Officer, but IF you get asked you have to show.

IT saves a lot of time if you are prepared.

1. valid and genuine passport

2. IF you got a visa issued, a print out

3. Print of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card tdac.immigration.go.th

4. the Boarding pass

5. Proof of onward travel within the period you get stamped into this country

6. Proof of accommodation

7. Proof of finance, 20.000 Thb (40.000 Thb for family) or equivalent currency in CASH.

And YES, as Immigation is the first line of defence, they can ask you to come aside for a further interview about your intentions of your visit.

Nothing is final here in Thailand and is subject to change. As of now the vast majority of people manage to enter with their TDAC completed and a printed copy of their DTV.

RECOMMENDED: If you want to be on the safe side make sure you can prove that you’re working for an abroad company or participating in a soft power activity, and able to show 20'000THB in cash.

Print out your DTV, complete the TDAC 72 hours or less before arrival, if you're really nervous have 20,000 baht or equivalent currency in cash.
