Once I leave after my first 6 months on my DTV and come back do I still need to have proof of 500,000 baht in liquid bank account again when i re enter for the next 6 months? I keep majority of my funds in an Individual Brokerage Account so that I’m gaining interest. I’d prefer not to hold that much in a standard checking or savings account.h
TLDR : Answer Summary
When re-entering Thailand on a DTV after an initial stay, most people report that they are not asked for proof of having 500,000 baht in a liquid bank account. The requirement for showing this amount generally applies to visa extensions made within the country rather than at the time of entry. Many users have shared experiences where immigration officials did not inquire about proof of funds upon re-entry, making it unnecessary to hold the funds in a standard checking or savings account.
