My husband, son, and I have a US passport...I am currently on a non-o volunteer visa ( extension of stay) expiring in January with work permit. My husband and son have non o dependant visa. I am switching organizations, and will be teaching at a school. My previous organization will be canceling my work permit once the school has finished my visa paperwork. Then, I will immediately fly to Vientiane, laos to obtain a non b visa. Will my husband and son need to apply for another non-o visa in vientiane with me? If so, what paperwork is required for their visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa situation involves the cancellation of current visas upon the holder's change of status. Once the speaker's non-O visa is canceled due to switching employers and obtaining a non-B visa, both the husband's and son's dependent non-O visas will also be automatically canceled. As a result, they will need to apply for new non-O visas in Vientiane, Laos, alongside the speaker. The speaker is seeking information on the specific paperwork required for their dependents' visa applications.

Yes, I know their visas will be cancelled the same day. The school I will be working at is fairly new (2 years) and they have never done paperwork for a spouse or son- only for the teachers....so I am trying to get the paperwork together for my husband and son.... and need to find out the required documents for their non-o visa. Thank you 😀

do you know what paperwork is needed? I found this on the thai embassy website in vientiane for non o dependant visa: Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months

Visa application form completely filled out

Recent (4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant

Company or school's guarantee letter addressed to the Royal Embassy, Vientiane stating that the applicant is spouse or family members of those working or studying in Thailand

Copy of passport pages of those working or studying in Thailand. The passport pages should include personal data page and Thai visa page.

Copy of Thai Work Permit or Student I.D.

Copy of marriage certificate (For spouse)

Copy of birth certificate (For parents)

. Then they better learn in a hurry because you need some mandatory paperwork from them to get visas for your husband and son.

Yes they will need to get visas again as theirs will be cancelled the same time as yours.

Once your non Visa cancelled dependant visa will be cancelled automatically in the same day. After you get non B your school have to prepare documents for new non O for your BV family. About documents your Hr must know
