My husbands visa expired today and when he went into immigration they said they would not give him a Covid extension. He currently is on the Covid extension.

What are his options? Someone suggested to fly to Singapore and back since they supposedly don’t require a quarantine and he could Test N Go when he comes back.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's husband is facing visa issues after his Covid extension expired. Immigration denied him another extension, leading to suggestions about options like traveling to Cambodia for a new visa or returning to apply for a 30-day extension. Comments clarify that only Tourist Visas and Visa Exempt statuses are currently eligible for Covid extensions, suggesting the husband's previous visas (Education and Volunteer) disqualify him.

Suggest have him return ASAP and apply for 30 day extension. If denied they may give him 7 day stamp to leave Thailand.

Singapore is NOT where he needs to go...its Cambodia.

However...with his extensive use of various visas and extensions to live in Thailand...DO NOT seek to enter visa exempt. Try to get at least a Tourist Visa.

Good Luck...

Cambodia is OPEN

Beginning 26-Jan, they passed an order that only Tourist Visas and Visa Exempt are eligible to be considered for a covid extension. Non-Immig Visas (Education, Volunteer, etc.) became ineligible as of the new order.

yep...those visas are the reason. Especially the volunteer visa.

that's why he was denied. Only if you come in on tourist visa or visa exempt are you allowed to do COVID extension again

Hi Audrey, that’s worrying, I’m on my 1st Covid extension and hoping for another before going home in April. Did they say why he couldn’t get it?

New rules in play, go in time and make a plan b just in case.

Did he get the stamp Application not approved and 7 days to leave the country?

Sorry, but we can not help you to find the best country to visit and apply there for a new visa that fits his purpose and lenght of new stay inside Thailand.
Robert *******
That means he has to fly out today.

is it possible for him to get some sort of 7 day extension?

Only if the officer allows him to make an application and decide to not approve the application.

he'll be on overstay at midnight,go right back to immigration and attempt an extension denied stamp or leave before midnight tomorrow via the airport to get the 1 day overstay stamp and waived fine.
