Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹, Iโ€™m a US citizen in Chiang Rai and Iโ€™m going to apply for a retirement visa next week [After several visits to immigration Iโ€™m confident I have everything I need]. My daughter is enrolled in a Montessori school and her school is in the process of working on her education visa. My question is, what is the easiest in terms of paperwork and the which has the least financial requirements for my wife who is Russian and is currently on a 60 day Covid extension? My wife is younger and does NOT meet the criteria for a retirement visa. To attach her to my daughters education visa, I read I need about 500,000 baht in her Thai bank account. But I can NOT seem to find any info on what is needed to add her as a dependent to my eventual Thai retirement visa. Does anyone know what is required? Thank you for your help and your valuable time!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A US citizen in Chiang Rai is seeking advice on the best visa options for his Russian wife, who currently has a 60-day Covid extension and does not qualify for a retirement visa. The discussion includes information about attaching her to their daughter's education visa, which requires 500,000 baht in her account. Additionally, the comments clarify the absence of financial requirements for her to be a dependent on the husband's retirement visa.

There a no financial requirements for her to be dependent on your visa

She can't get a 90 day non-O visa inside the country based on being the spouse of someone who is on a "retirement visa" here. It's not one of the reasons they issue a Non-O visa in country for ๐Ÿ˜•

Her only choice (without leaving, getting a visa and comin' back) would be to have her get the "support a foreign child on an ED visa" option. And as you correctly pointed out, that is 500K baht in a thai bank account in her name only to apply for the Non-O visa and then the money needs to be in the account for 30 days for her to apply for the year extension the first time (every time after that the funds need to be in the account for 3 months)
