TLDR : Answer Summary
It is possible to obtain an Education Visa (ED) to stay in Thailand for at least 6 months by enrolling in a recognized Muay Thai school that is approved by the Ministry of Education. A confirmation letter from the school will be required to apply for this visa at a Thai consulate before entering Thailand. Once in Thailand, further paperwork can be submitted to extend the visa for an additional 90 days.

You can ask the muay Thai if they can provide you ed ( education visa) if not you can get an ed visa in a language school for 6 months or 1 year. Up to you.

Tiger is probably a good place to start in terms of asking the ED visa questions - they are the most commercial of the Muay Thai schools on Phuket and are pretty good at getting back to emails.

I would say google is your friend. Search for "Muay Thai School Puket ED visa" to see what is down there. There are many schools down there but not all of them offer ED visas because they're not all approved by the MOE.

Good Luck

They may be able to get an Education Visa for that. Check with the Thai Embassy / Consulate in the country they are from for the requirements.

, no, you would come here on a tourist visa, find and enroll in a muay thai school, get paperwork from the school, go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country get a 90 day single entry ED visa, come back study muay thai, then when your 90 days is up you'd get more paperwork from the school and go to the immigration office to get a 90 day extension. You do that for the whole year.

Surprised at that. If said Muay Thai facility was approved I'd have though it would have been able to be done beforehand. I doubt the many facilities for this type of study would meet the requirements anyway though.

Unfortunately, you wouldn't get an education visa from ANY thai consulate until you had paperwork from the school and the MOE saying you're enrolled. AND some thai consulates will not issue ED visas for study at private schools, only universities.

You need to get what's called an 'education visa'. you'd come here, enroll in a school approved by the Ministry of Education. They would give you paperwork to go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country and apply for a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa. You'd be stamped in for 90 days, then you'd get more paperwork and go to the immigration office and get an extension for 90 more days for 1900baht
