Had to book air ticket (DEL-BKK-DEL) for some urgent works & meet.. as JULY 25, landing in Thailand & flying back on AUGUST 13.
So it’s 5 days extra as I understand for now we (Indian national) can have VOA valid for 15 days only.
So would like to request to please guide 🙏🏼🙏🏼 for this as:
Q1. As staying for 5 extra days…
I’m aware that I should be paying ฿500/ day as fine totalling ฿2500
&
Q2. Does VOA office need to see ticket within 15 days OR I hope they do allow as it’s 20 day ticket already. Provided i’m ready to pay the fine as per rules.
TIA 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, an Indian national, is inquiring about staying in Thailand for 20 days with a Visa on Arrival (VOA), while their VOA is valid for only 15 days. They seek clarification on the penalties for overstaying and the requirements for showing a return ticket upon arrival. Comments from others emphasize that an onward ticket for departure within 15 days is typically required to obtain a VOA, and that overstaying can lead to fines and potential future travel issues. It's advised to obtain a proper visa before traveling.
you could buy a cheap ticket from bangkok to e.g. Kualalumpur that is within 15 days and show that. Or another refundable ticket. or you get a ticket for 15 days and change the booking once you are here. But as the experts said: your airline might not let you board without that.
Without return ticket Indians don't get either VOA or E-VISA. You can buy dummy tickets and overstay though but that would mean a permanent marker in your passport and problem while visiting Thailand in future.
While they issue VOA they do require flight ticket within 15 days (sometimes they don’t check if airport is too busy but that rarely happens. You may test your luck 😆) and for Indian passport they can extend 7 days more with 1,900 at any immigration office after entering into Thailand.
You need to check with your air carrier, AND you still might be required to book a ticket out in 15 days even if you do board and land here when you go to buy the VOA at passport control because that's a rule for VOA people here
I don't even think they'll let you check in for your flight without onward travel within the number of days you'll get stamped in for on a VOA (15).
IF they do let you board, you'll have to go to the immigration office on the last day your VOA is good for after you're stamped in and apply for an "extension denied" 7 day stamp to get out of thailand in a week for 1900baht.
Umm Tod. If he really uses the onward ticket to e.g. fly to Laos and come back to Thailand same day or one day later, can he get a new VOA ? Sorry, just for my knowledge.
They ain't gonna get ON their plane OR get IN to thailand without onward travel within the days they get stamped in for. Thai immigrations (and the air carriers) are HARD on VOA people
