Ranong visa run....

Hello everyone,

I am Chille residing in Phuket. I have to renew my visa and a few has been telling me to go to Ranong for convienent. But there is a report from Thai Immigration sent out to tourist companies that if there's more than three entries, it can not be done in Ranong. Is that true? 2nd, the current visa is Non-O, and it has been for the last three years. Due to American Embassy changed the rule(s) to no direct income verification. Therefore, We need 500,000 Bahts in the account to manage a new visa. 3rd, we have a child that is 7 years of age with Thai id number in Thabean baan. Not really sure which way to take. Ranong, Vientaine, Penang, KL, Singapore, or back to the States...LOL..?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about renewing their Non-O visa through a visa run to Ranong, specifically asking if they can do so despite exceeding the limit of three entries. They mention changes in American Embassy rules regarding income verification and express concern about their financial situation for a new visa. Additionally, they are considering different locations for the visa run due to their family circumstances with a child.

Now the question is what do you want to do, nice that you know some places with Thai consulates or Embassies but do you like a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, do you like to apply for a new visa and which place do you prefer as requirements may differ at different Thai Consulates and Embassies and I'm not going to list all of them with their specific requirements.

I do not think you have a Non Immigrant O visa which was valid for over 3 years, I guess in the last 3 years you visited an Immigration Office and applied for an Extension of Stay based on having a child, and for financial support you used the income affidavit.

you seem to have an USA passport and that means you can only make two border runs without a visa, using a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry a calendar year (01 Jan - 31 Dec)

oh well, i give it a try. You can never renew a visa, the sticker is inside your passport and that is it, nobody will blank out the dates or other information and change it with new information.
