TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice about extending their stay in Thailand beyond the expiry of their current 60-day visa, which was issued after their initial 90-day Non-O visa. They are considering traveling to Vietnam for 10 days and returning to Thailand to obtain a 30-day visa on arrival (VOA). There are concerns about possible scrutiny when returning or doing a visa run, especially after multiple extensions and the potential for complications at the border with Cambodia.

if you are going to Vietnam, Suggest that you apply for a tourist visa with the Thai Embassy or Consulate in either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

What was the 60 day extension for? Was it Covid or visiting family
John **********
There's no further extension you can get in that case, your only option is to leave and return.

Some of the Cambodian borders require you to stay one night on the Cambodian side.

it's a long time since I used that border crossing but didn't have any problems with it at all, saying that I've also heard negative reports of it. When I used it I didn't even enter Cambodia, paid a Cambodian guy hanging around the office where you get the Cambodian visa to get a stamp for me while I sat with the Cambodian immigration guys in no man's land. Given you're in Sa kaeo anyway I'd be tempted to give it a go. No time limit.

What was the reason you were granted the 60 days extension of stay you obtained?

COVID extension?

Family visit extension?

then you will need to leave Thailand and reenter visa exempt which will get you either a 30 or 45 days stamp (pending final approval of changes October 1) Which can be extended for added 30 days extension at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
