Hi All,

Does anyone know if remote United Nations work would classify for a DTV? Had a look around but couldn't find any specific information.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community confirms that remote work for the United Nations does qualify for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, as long as the work is online and not connected to Thai businesses.

If the UN has physical presence in Thailand, even if you don’t work for that unit/office, still applies?

Good point and that could well be embassy specific, the interpretation of what you noted. I know someone in Japan got the DTV via showing their contract, work, income solely from Japan. His work has nothing to do with the Thai office, no business income generated from Thailand and all clients are In Japan/the EU and requires native Japanese language. With the DTV Your contract of employment and business income, salary should not derive from Thailand, take away a job a Thai person could do.

- was curious since there are a lot of large international companies in Bangkok. People could work remotely for their US/Europe offices but still have a Bangkok office and was curious how that could impact, if at all.

True, lots of global businesses present in Bangkok. The UN is not classed as a business, so that may make it easier for the OP.
