TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Tourist Visa to Thailand, you typically need to show sufficient funds in your bank statement. The common requirement is approximately 20,000 Baht (around $600-$700 USD) to support yourself for the duration of your stay, typically around 90 days. However, this requirement may vary depending on the embassy, so it's important to check specific embassy guidelines for the exact amount needed.

I can’t recall ever being asked.

@Bryn *******
then you have never applied for a tourist visa to Thailand

How many different visas do you need girl? Lol
Tore *********
That depends on the embassy. In The Netherlands it was 5000eur for a METV and 1000 I believe for a single entry.

Different embassies got different requirements

20,000 baht equivalent in cash on arrival is universal, but has noting to do with the visa requirements.

Now there's a Pittbull sitting in a box and doing a pre-check of your docs. He doesn't help, he just makes problems. My lady had to book a return flight, even she lives only 5 minutes from the land border. Asking for the supervisor you only get a "nope".

Check the website, I believe it’s 20,000 baht, or equivalent in your home dollar amount

With a Tourist Visa, they want to see 20,000 Baht. That is somewhere between 600-700 Dollars. Used to be 700 but the Baht is down since I was there before COVID.

Just curious as to why my post was removed?

I'm curious, what on earth are you trying to do/achieve? You've gone from visa exempt, asking about visa runs/border runs, to asking about non-EDs for you/your kids, non-O based on non-ED for your kids, and now a tourist visa.

I think she's just trying to gather some information regarding different categories of thai visas.

it’s called educating oneself

or he could be running visa tours and get any answers he can't answer , answered on here... And making $$$$ off innocent people.

If not , why so many questions on different visa options ?
Darren *******
@Mark ********
how? It sounds more like she doesn't know what she's trying to achieve and is, instead, potentially shooting herself in the foot.

For a single person the equivalent of bt20,000.

Enough to support yourself for 90 days.

Every embassy has different requirements you need to check their website or contact them.
