TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of a visa for entering Thailand depends on your nationality and the duration of your stay. Based on the conversation, a UK passport holder traveling for two weeks does not need to apply for a visa, as they can benefit from a 45-day visa exemption. The requirement of carrying 20,000 baht in cash is mentioned, but it is generally not enforced and is only requested in specific circumstances. It is suggested to carry a printed copy of any electronic visa documentation for entry.
As long as you're not Nigerian, I doubt they're gonna ask u for proof of cash. You're British so they will assume you've got cash.

You are going to stay for 2 weeks and have a UK passport. So you don't need to get any visa and don't need to pay any money.

I believe you have a UK passport, so when you arrive in Thailand you will get a 45 day visa exemption which is extendable one time should you decide to stay longer. Being that this is your first time traveling to Thailand, the odds of them asking for 20,000 baht is almost zero.
I have another question for you 😬 hoe about travel insurance? Is it requeired? Does anyone look at that and also do I need to show an address of where I will stay?
print it out. You’ll need it as a printed copy on entry and for other stuff like extensions if required. You may get away with a digital copy on entry but phones die. Paper doesn’t.
Whether a visa is needed depends on your nationality and how long you’re planning to stay. The 20,000 baht (or equivalent in another major currency) is the rule and it must be in cash - not a bank statement or phone app showing you have such. However 99.9% of tourists will never be asked to show this. They only ask it if they think you’re trying to buck the system with back to back visa exempt or tourist visa entries - as a way to deny you entry.
