Can I Obtain a 30-Day Extension on My METV After Amnesty or Do I Need a Letter from My Embassy?

I’m confused... could someone please clarify?

I’m on amnesty

(METV, valid until March 30th with last stamp admitted until May 14th).

I was under the impression that I could buy the 30-day extension (THB1900) at immigration office (before 31July), in case they don’t extend the amnesty.

My questions:

1. Am I correct?

2. Would I be needing the all of a sudden often mentioned letter from my embassy (Dutch) to buy this extension?

TIA 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether they can buy a 30-day extension for their METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) after the current amnesty ends, and if a letter from their Dutch embassy is required to do so. The comments suggest that obtaining the extension might be problematic, and the necessity of a letter from the embassy is uncertain.

I do not thing the Dutch Consulate is issuing 'unable to travel due to covid-19" letters to get the 30 day emergency extension at this time.

That might be an option though and you should contact them.

All you can do is go try to get a 30 day extension from your expired 60 day tourist visa entry from amnesty. There are conflicting reports and it looks like they are NOT allowing it (even if you didn't get your 30 day extension before you went on amensty)

Go to the immigration office in your area and try, it's all you can do.
