Is it true that the 30days extension still can be done after the amnesty , regardless how long it lasts? My gf rang up at Ratchaburi immigration and they told her that. I‘m on a METV valid until late July and my 60days are over on May 4th. So I haven’t extended yet.

TLDR : Answer Summary
While there is ongoing uncertainty about the situation after the amnesty, it appears that individuals can still apply for the 30-day extension of stay after the amnesty period, as confirmed by officials at Ratchaburi immigration. It is recommended to apply for the extension before the visa expiry date to ensure compliance, especially as rules may change.

In my opinion its true. My tourist visa ended 15 april, so in that day I went to immigration at CR for information whats next, and woman told me that I am safe to 30.04 and after that I can normally extend my staying for 30 days for 1900 THB (if its your 1st time), of course if amnesty will be extend - you still have your "extension" after amnesty will be over, this is what she told me.

but "free amnesty stamp" not exist, it mean you will not get any stamp before 30.04

and while that SOUNDS good, no one knows exactly how it will work IF you take the free amnesty stamp and then try to extend again after that.

SO I'd say let's wait until the government actually spells out how it will work, because until they do that, ANY immigration officer is just guessing on what it will be

If you want to be sure you can apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay before the 4th of May.

At the moment there is only an arrangement for people with a stay until 30 April, what will be announced or arranged after that date is unknown.

thx I will most probably wait then and call again on May 1st. If that information by the immigration was true, it‘s may better to not „burn“ the 30 day Extension.
