TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibility of extending a single entry tourist visa in Thailand for 30 days after the amnesty period ends on September 26th. Responses indicate that the visa generally cannot be extended, but there are mixed opinions about potential support letters from embassies. The current consensus suggests a significant lack of clarity and the suggestion to check with embassies or wait for further developments.

American Embassy is issuing letters to there citizens to help get visa extensions again so something must be happening behind the scenes.

The U.K. embassy website will issue a letter in support of a non immigrant visa, it says nothing about tourist visa.

Yes it is ... I missed that when I read it. So they are specifically saying they will not issue a letter.
