I've had a bit of confusion over this myself so would love to hear from anyone that has written information regarding staying in the same country you have applied from while your visa is processing (linked sources only please, not ones opinion).
I was under the impression you had to stay in the same country you applied from, but the gym I am getting paperwork from told me I can leave (just not enter Thailand) so I called the Thai Embassy in Canberra today and they said that it is okay to leave the country.
This was obviously all verbal so would love to read information on this before I risk having my application canceled
TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the confusion surrounding the rules for staying in the country of application while a Thai visa (DTV visa) is being processed. The original poster seeks clarity on whether they can leave the country where they applied for the visa, citing mixed messages from their gym and the Thai Embassy. Some comments emphasize the importance of remaining in the application country until the visa is approved, while others suggest that multiple-entry visas allow for easier travel. However, a definitive guideline from the Thai Embassy is that applicants must stay in the country where they applied until the visa decision is made.
