Can I re-enter Thailand on a DTV visa after my Muay Thai course has ended?
Hi! I have a question. I have a DTV visa based on Muay Thai, and I’m going to leave Thailand for about a month. The Muay Thai course I used to apply for the visa has already ended, as the 6-month period has now passed.
So far, I’ve left and re-entered Thailand several times with my DTV and have never had any issues. However, I’ve recently been reading some news about changes and stricter immigration checks, so I wanted to make sure everything is still okay.
Would I be able to re-enter Thailand after being abroad for a month even though my Muay Thai course has already finished? Have there been any recent changes to the DTV requirements that could affect my re-entry in this situation?

Depends if you really want to study Muay Thai Boxing. You could enroll in another course or buy single lessons (pay as you go). A single advance lesson booking has reportedly proved satisfactory for entry purposes. If you don’t, your DTV is valid for touristic purposes. In the highly unlikely event of being asked your purpose of visit, stating ‘vacation’ has also reportedly proved acceptable for entry purposes.

My advice: You should get a course before coming back to Thailand and go to the course to be compliant.
There is a chance they will ask you for your gym contract at immigration…
They are starting to really look into it.
My gym sent me a message saying immigration is doing inspections everywhere.
They are really into DTV’s Soft Power as* right now…
When I entered, beginning of August I came in no problem but you know how it is maybe they asked the guy after me or next to me! It’s Russian Roulette 🤷♀️
