Can I leave Thailand on the same day my non-immigrant ED visa expires?

Questions to be sure I am not doing anything illegal:

I have a non imm ED visa that is ending soon: the stamp says. "Admitted until 18 January". Can I fly out the country the same 18th or I have to do it on 17th?

My flight back home in Europe is on 21th of February, so I'll stay 1 week in Myanmar and then come back to Thailand with a tourist visa for another month before going home. Am I allowed to do that?

Thank you in advance :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the legality of their travel plans as their non-immigrant ED visa is set to expire on January 18. They want to know if they can leave Thailand on that day and return afterwards with a tourist visa. Responses confirmed that they can depart on January 18 before midnight and noted the importance of having necessary travel documents and cash upon re-entry. Concerns were also raised regarding past immigration history and the risk of questioning upon return.

Ok maybe there was a misanderstanding: I came in Thailand the first time in 2017, with a non imm ed visa of 6 months that ended at the end of december 2017. I flew out, came back first days of january 2018 with visa extend of 30 days, then back home 14 January 2018.

Now I am back, entered Thailand with non imm ed visa of 3 months on 21 of October 2018..

Forget about tourist visa, I meant visa extend.

one last time, as long as you are on the 90 day entry stamp from the ED visa you can just stamp out. No need to go to immigrations and cancel anything.

As long as you stamp out before 11:59 on the 18th of January you're good.

IF you are on the original 90 day entry from the ED visa you just leave and it's fine..

are there steps she needs to take when her Ed Visa ends?

You had outlined steps to be taken in her November post which is linked in this post.

And as an Italian citizen you can get 30 days exempt visa on arrival upon entry. No tourist visa is needed... You stated you would get a tourist visa.

Are you really planning to leave and return to your home country?

Its important that we know what you really are wanting to do to give you best advice.

Hmmm...I note that you have changed your plans from your November post...delaying your departure again.

Be careful as there is no guaranteed reentry upon your arrival from Myanamar

The Immigration Officer may question you asking why you stay so long in Thailand?

Just how many months were you in Thailand in 2019?

In 2018?

If you have a history of many entries over a year or more, I recommend that you NOT FLY back into Thailand.

In fact cross by land border from Myanamar..or Laos/Nong Khai probably best.

Be sure to have 20,000 Thai baht or its equal in cash, your address of stay and your confirmed ticket out of Thailand.

Good Luck.

I've stayed here in Thailand in 2017, then came back home for more than 1 year...it is not my intention to live here in Thailand, I come here just to study (aka spending money).

if you're on the initial 90 days which you got on entry in the rectangle stamp Admitted until, you can leave that day until midnight 23:59.

If you come back into Thailand and you did not buy a Visa at the Thai Consulate you get 30 days Visa Exempt Entry.

just see the link, up to you, but if it does not work out the way i described, i'm not that sorry. This is your other end date in that other topic

I have an italian passport and an ED visa that will end on 11th of December.

And somehow that stamp changed

the stamp says. "Admitted until 18 January.
