Hi there!

Got a question.. My education visa will expire on 3rd of Feb, I have to do my 90 day report as well on the same day..

I case of me flying out from the country for few days and coming back on the tourist visa would be an issue?

I would imagine that I wont be able to apply for education visa since I wont cancel it at immigration, but will I get a tourist stamp on the airport?

Thank You for answer in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the process of transitioning from an education visa, which is expiring soon, to a tourist visa by leaving Thailand temporarily. They are concerned about the implications of not canceling their education visa upon departure and whether they will receive a tourist visa stamp upon re-entry. Comments provide advice on ensuring the education visa cancellation is complete before leaving and inquire about the details of their current visa status.

I guess it is now more than clear. Get your Extension of Stay cancelled before you leave, if you like to come back into Thailand make sure you have the proofs as mentioned. Stay safe.

Where are you planning on getting your Tourist Visa?

Thank You very much for your help.

When you do leave Thailand and try to return, if denied reentry it is possible Thai Immigration may force you to buy a ticket back to your home country. Be aware of that possibility. It has happened recently at airports.

Take some time and look into a visa for the purpose of your stay. Keep on using this tourist visa and visa exempt entry is not the way to do it.

I would say around 7 times already.. I do hold a Polish passport.

I believe you hold an UK Passport? And have been in Thailand nearly two years from 2017. Be careful...The above advice just given by

is important. Good Luck.

One only from Vientiane?

You may get lucky and get a second there.. Cross border by land both ways via Udon Thani to Nong Khai.

If you come back into Thailand with or without a visa, make sure you can show that you can support yourself for this stay, with minimum 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH, proof of onward travel within the period of the visa exempt entry (30 days) or 60 days when using the tourist visa and proof of accommodation. As you claim you are a real tourist get some proof of funds coming in from abroad to fund your stay as back up. For an Immigration Officer it is hard to believe that some one who is not working, can pay for all this without any income.

Yes, I did, it was around a year ago.

...Have you obtained a tourist visa before in Laos?

...Do not fly into airports.

...Use border crossings...

frankly you need to find a visa which serves your long term wish to live in Thailand. I think you are at risk. In fact recent reports from others in similar situations as yours show that even when you have a new Tourist Visa in your passport, upon arrival at the airport Thai Immigration is denying entry.

Thank You for your opinion :)

You obviously have a long history of living in Bangkok. More and more people getting questioned on arrival using back to back tourist visa, visa exempt entry and ed visa. Yes you are abusing the law as all these visa's are not meant to live inside Thailand.

So my passport if full of stamps. But if we really think about it.. I don't break any law.. I think I have a right to do this and come back as a tourist

Haven't heard about it to be honest.. Obviously I have done a few visa runs before and had education visas before as well..

Are you aware that Thai Immigration is denying entry to many who have a history of back to back visas on their arrival at Don Muang and Bangkok airports? Denying them entry ...

Yes, I'm flying to Cambodia, but I don't think that there is need for applying for visa to Thailand. I would imagine I will get 30 days stamp

Ziol *******

I'm planning to get a stamp on arrival at the airport. Doing a trip to Cambodia, then going back to Thailand for 3 months, hopefuly on Tourist visa.

Did you have a Single Entry Non Immigrant ED Visa, and till what date was your Admitted until date when you entered Thailand using this visa? Did you visit between than and today the Immigration Office to apply for an Extension of Stay?
Robert *******
@Lukasz ***********
Than you need a letter from your school stating the last day of your school activities. Go to Immigration and cancel this Extension of Stay on that day, you can do this in advance so do not wait till last day. You have to leave Thailand on the last day as mentioned in school papers.

I should have this visa extended on 2nd of Feb with papers from University. But since I don't want to be on Education visa ever again..
Robert *******
And when was this, as the visa is only valid for 90 days and than you had to leave, no need for 90 days reports.
