What should I do with my Non-Immigrant ED visa before returning to my home country to avoid immigration issues in Thailand?

Hello guys, I have a question regarding my Non-Immigrant ED visa.

I have to return to my home country 2019-05-04 to take care of my parents, so I have to cut my stay here in Phuket short :/

What do I have to do so I don't get any problems with the immigrations when I arrive back here in Thailand again?

Do I need to cancel my permit of stay or something? If so why?

My current permit of stay runs out 2019-05-14, so I will leave Thailand 10 days before my permit to stay needs to be extended.

If I leave Thailand without buying a Re-entry stamp my permit of stay will be annulled automatically. Or am I assuming wrong?

This is my "first" 3 months period, so I'm not yet on an extension of stay.

I really need some professional advice so I don't screw it up for me in the future....

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about leaving Thailand with a Non-Immigrant ED visa, specifically asking if they need to cancel their permit of stay before returning home. They are concerned about the implications of not obtaining a re-entry stamp, which would result in their stay being annulled. A comment advises that with the initial visa, exiting the country will cancel the stay automatically, but a re-entry stamp can preserve the permit until the specified expiration date if returning before that date.

You are on the initial visa, your stay gets cancelled with the exit stamp when leaving the country. If you plan to return before 14 May 2019 you can buy a re-entry stamp and get the same date of 14 may 2019 on return and than apply for the Extension of Stay. Or if the plans are coming back after 14 May 2019, just leave and come back with a new visa.

Aha, thank you very much...

I was also thinking my permit to stay automatically would be cancelled when I left Thailand.

Thank you very much for confirming this for me so quickly :)
