Can I apply for a tourist visa after my ED visa expires and leave for Malaysia?

you get a letter from your school saying you stop studying on xx date (usually the day your extension expires). You go to the immigration office about a week before that date with the letter and cancel the extension. The immigration office will cancel the extension and stamp you in until the termination date on the letter from the school THEN you leave on or by that date

now the thing is, IF you're not gonna ever get a Non-imm visa to thailand of any type, AND if you're exiting by air, to just buy a tourist visa in another country and come back after you have that (by land is fine), use the time on the tourist visa and go back to where you come from in all reality you don't have to cancel the extension 🙂😮

it won't stop you from comin' in on a free 30 day entry stamp, it wont stop you from getting a tourist visa, it won't stop you from comin' into the country on a tourist visa or getting a 30 day extension on a free entry stamp or a tourist visa entry.

It's just you didn't officially cancel your extension and that WILL cause you grief if you ever try to get a new Non-Imm visa
