Good afternoon,
My fiancรฉ and I, have been studying here for the past year (come end of Jan).
As studying requires us to stay in one place to attend the classes, weโve only had change to see the surrounding area (which is lovely) but would love the opportunity to travel around a little and see the rest of the country.
Would I be correct in thinking when the ED visa expires and the course is finished, we could then leave the country (to a nearby country - ie Malaysia) apply for a 2 month tourist visa and come back as tourists to explore then country?
Just checking what the set up is.
Any info or advice is truly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring if they can leave Thailand to apply for a 2-month tourist visa in Malaysia after their ED visa expires upon completing their studies. Comments confirm there should be no issues with this plan, advising to check the requirements for the tourist visa and to cancel the ED visa extension at the immigration office before leaving, to avoid complications with future visa applications.
