Hello !

I obtained a non B (stamp) in December. However I didn't get the work permit yet since I decided to leave the school in a few weeks.

The stamp on my passport is valid until March 2022.

My question is, can I wait until march to apply for a covid extension or should I apply right now?

Thank you for your answers :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they should apply for a COVID extension for their Non-B visa now or wait until March, as their current stamp is valid until that month. Responses indicate that it's advisable to apply for the extension within the last 30 days before the visa expires and that the last day to apply for a COVID extension is January 25.

Some conditions here, make your own decision...

- As mentioned above, most immigration offices allow you to apply for an extension when you have 30days or less with your current stamp

- In most cases, your first Covid extension starts the day you apply

- Under the current program, the last day you can apply for a Covid extension is 25 Jan

You got a new in-country Non-B in December. it would be the same as I mentioned. You are applying for an extension for a different reason from your current one.

We wouldn't assume those things that are unknown or unannounced information.

I forgot to mention I was on a covid extension visa before then moved to a non B. Assuming they will extend again the covid extension program, I’m hoping to go back to that when my non B expires in March.

You can apply for an Extension of Stay during the last 30 days of your current stay.
