Hi guys ! I've searched in the group before posting but I couldn't see my question posted. Here we go.

I'm the director of my company, my non-b 90days expire on 6th of march (my Work Permit is valid from 20th december 2018 until 19th december 2019). Is it possible to get the Non-B year extension in Vientiane instead of the immigration office here in Bangkok ? According to the lawyer in charge of my stuff : yes, but I did my research and couldn't find a clear written answer from vientiane embassy site or other sources. (Let's be honest : the reason is my head office is not ready for immigration officer's visit)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question is about the possibility of obtaining a Non-B year extension at the embassy in Vientiane, Laos, instead of at the immigration office in Bangkok, Thailand. The responses indicate that extensions can only be processed within the country where the visa was issued, specifically at the immigration office where the company is registered. While it is possible to apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa in Vientiane, it will only provide a single entry for 90 days. The community advises preparing the necessary paperwork for an extension in Thailand before the current visa expires.

In Vientiane you can apply for a new Non Immigrant B visa, this will be a single entry visa that gives you 90 days of stay. Get your head office in order, so you can apply for the Extension of Stay at Immigration.
Ellie *******
Extension is given only at a immigration office where your company registered.

You get new visa at consulates outside of Thailand. Multiple entry non-B visa is available at only Penang and Kota Bharu around S/E Asia for sure. Some rumor, but no concrete info from other consulates.

@Ellie ******
thank you for your ideas with yangon and penang, I'll try to get informations from them as fast as possible. Thanks to all of you who took time to share their experience and advices. My lawyer and a visa agency confirmed Lao doesn't deliver year extension non-b.

I'm aware Non-M and Non-B are different. I've had both. Simply sharing my experience. Caveat emptor and everyone should, of course, do their own due diligence. The situation with visas seems to be very, shall we say, fluid at the moment and varies greatly from Embassy to Embassy. As I have not applied for a multiple entry in more than a year, I cannot speak to teh current situation. And didn't. :)

, sorry, but Non-M? It;s totally different from Non-B....

There are several consulate issuing Non-B single entry, but for non-B multiple for foreigners without legal residency is very few. from
@Daniel ********
comments, you cannot get non-B multi from HK any more...
John *****************
Ellie Takei no legal residency required. Someone here quite recently got their Non-B, single entry, in HK - in the last month. I've had two Non-M, single entry, from HK in the last year.

@Dan***
, maybe you can have your lawyer to contact to Penang, Kota Bharu, and Yangon for Non-B multi.

My friends got multiple from Penang a couple of weeks ago.

I was advised about HK, my lawyer contacted the embassy there and they answered it wasn't possible anymore. All seems so blurred when it comes to who applies which norm.

And yes indeed, a friend got a 1 year non-b at penang a few years ago (i have the passport pic)
Ellie *******
Wow really?

Didn't you need legal residency in HK?

Then it would be a great news to this group, I guess.
John *****************
Non-B, multiple entry was available from Hong Kong a year ago when I got one. Not sure of the current situation but HK used to be quick and efficient. Current single entry Non-B was from Manila.

Yearly extensions are only given in country.

Why would immigration need to visit your office.

Get the paperwork ready and apply for it before you have less than 30 days on your current visa.
Lesley *******
I have just gone through 12 month extension process at Jomtien. Immigration did visit the office during the process as standard practice.

Yep I've got that feedback about bangkok. I have the staff its not a problem actually, its just the location and the office rental... Thanks for sharing.

Yes that's what i heard. They really enforce that in order to shut down fake companies (used for buying properties for example)

Just had my picture taken in front of the company sign with the CEO for my Non-B one year extension. He said he has to do this for every foreign employee, every time. Also had a pic taken of me at my desk working. In bangkok.

In some region government offices will visit to check the physical address and working status. And yes, in Bangkok, they pay visit. My friend's office also getting visit several times but I am sure which of Immigration or MOL he got.

BTW, 4 Thai workers for 1 foreigner is not for WP but Non-B extension.

I'm based in Bangkok, i guess its chaeng wattana. I'm totally new to these things so i can't even be sure. I've just learned as well that my condo owner didn't register me, so one more thing I'll have to deal with...

What immigration office are you using?

Anyway sounds like you need a new 90 non B from outside Thailand.

well, I heard different things then. need proof of income, pictures at work place with the employees and company logo, tax for sure, and expect an immigration officer to come and check for all that, as well.
Paul *********
Surly all they need is proof of you paying income tax for you and your Thai employees.
Paul *********
Never heard of office visits. Only home visits for married people.

Apparently Immigration officers pay visit to companies in order to make sure they are not fake, really have 4 employees for 1 Work Permit, have a valid adress and office (no more virtual desk) etc etc. My current 90days non-b ends up 6th of march : 13days from now.
Rob ******
No, you cannot get an extension of stay from an embassy or consulate outside of Thailand
