One question. I will be in bkk tomorrow and unfortunately my e visa didn’t arrived yet and I think it’s gonna take till after xmass.

( it is taking longer cause they asked for more documents )

I applied for a normal tourist visa 60 days.

My question is , when I arrive tomorrow and enter on voa , is it possible to change this to my confirmed visa after all.??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of switching from a Visa on Arrival (VoA) to a confirmed e-visa upon arrival in Thailand. The responses clarify that it's not possible to activate a later-issued tourist visa or switch visa types once inside Thailand. Instead, the user can enter Thailand under a Visa Exempt Entry which allows a 30-day stay, with an option to extend by 30 days at local immigration. Once the e-visa arrives, the user would need to leave Thailand and re-enter to use that visa.

Regardless you enter on Visa On Arrival or visa-exempt, or whatever entry else, the answer is simple. You cannot activate (or change) the later-issued tourist visa inside Thailand. You need to leave Thailand once, then enter on that visa if issued.

Check again just before you go through passport control at the entry point tomorrow.

Visa exempt = 30 days. Visit laos or cambodia and reenter with your evisa = 60 days. You just won a 90 days stay.

What is your passport nation. Not many are entitled to via, you're more likely visa exempt which means you get stamped in for 30 days and you can extend for a further 30 days. You can't switch to a tourist visa inside Thailand, if the visa arrives after you enter Thailand you would have to leave and re-enter to use it

I think it's France... and the Thai Embassy or Consulate in Paris are slow in ISSUING the Thai tourist visa.

embassies usually quote a processing time but if course if the applicant doesn't supply the required information it can take longer. Seems a much simpler solution to me

You will arrive into Thailand and be stamped in for 30 days as Visa Exempt Entry.

That can be extended for ADDED one time 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

And/Or you can leave Thailand and reenter with the Evisa tourist visa which you should receive in the coming days or weeks.

WHEN you get the Evisa email, PRINT OUT the Evisa to show the Thai Immigration Officers when you either enter Thailand.
