Hi, does anyone know if I can fly out of Thailand & fly back in again on the same day to gain the 30day visa on arrival or do I have to spend the night somewhere? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can leave Thailand and return on the same day to gain a new visa exempt entry. Some travelers have successfully done this without spending the night in another country. It is important to note that this process grants you a visa exempt entry, which is different from a visa on arrival.

Your question about Visa Exempt Entry is answered. To book a flight I would say Google is your friend. Good luck.

Thankyou!! Has anyone done it before/can recommend the best location to do direct from Chiang Mai?

Not much choice from CNX. Maybe Air Asia to KL? Otherwise, you'll need to connect in BKK.

Cheapest destination direct without requiring a visa would be Kuala Lumpur. There are cheaper flights to Yangoon but a visa is required to even get on the plane.

No, because you will get a visa exempt entry, totally different to visa on arrival. That said, yes, you will get another visa exempt entry.

Yes you can..

Same day is fine. And you don't have to enter the other country. I have flown to Singapore and got back on the same aircraft home.
