Hello everyone.

I'm looking for an advice about the visa extension. So my work visa will end on April 30, and I'm looking to stay here in Bangkok until end of June (my apartment rent will finish in June 2023). Can I extend my stay here with the 30 days visa at the immigration (the one that cost 1900 baht). Or should I travel back to my country first (Indonesia) and get back to Bangkok to get the 30 days visa on arrival and extend it once at the office. Or should I use the border cross to Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam? Which one do you think will be the best option? Thank you. โค๏ธ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their work visa in Thailand, which is set to expire on April 30. They want to know if they can extend their current visa at immigration, or if they need to travel back to their home country or cross a border to get a new entry stamp. Comments clarify that they cannot extend a Non-B visa and must cancel it first. They can exit and re-enter Thailand for a new visa-exempt entry stamp, but caution against certain border crossings.

I dont / wont work here so this is second hand information but I understood also that when the employer cancels the work permit you have 7 days to leave the kingdom and its not possible (well not easy) to transfer to any other extension of stay.. Its a 'you must leave' 7 days. EDIT :: You can of course return for a new permission of stay.

Verify that but this is how I understood it.

, that information is not quite right. You don't have any days when you cancel your extension based on employment unless the employer is BOI certified company. (that means you need to leave on the date of cancellation.) You have to clearly apply for an extension for any reason for the 1900thb fee just after cancellation. That application will be denied then you can get "application denied, 7 days to leave the Kingdom".

You cannot extend a work visa without a bunch of employment paperwork. You need to leave and return.

Sadly (for you) there is no 30 day extension available at all on Non-B visa/extension

So that option is off the table ๐Ÿ˜•

You need to CANCEL your current extension of stay based on employment at the immigration office where you got it, then you could exit/re-enter the country to get a NEW free visa exempt entry stamp for 30 days..

You can use any land border you want (DO NOT USE the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border with Cambodia as you won't get back in)

BTW: Thailand doesn't have a border with Vietnam ๐Ÿ˜• so if you are bouncing out and back by land you use Malaysia, Burma, Cambodia or Lao ..

This isn't a "where can I bounce the easiest group" sorry. Post on a group related to where you live and ask where people are bouncing out and back in that area for new entry stamps.
