Hello.

I have been offered an interview with a large company in Bangkok however they want to meet face to face .

I am in Europe and have already been to Thailand twice by air and twice by land this year.

I do not think I will be allowed to enter again on a tourist visa.

Is there a visa thar can be used for an interview?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on what visa to obtain for attending a job interview in Thailand, as they believe they may not be allowed to enter with a tourist visa due to prior visits. The community discusses various visa options, including getting a Non-B visa or entering on a visa exemption for a short stay. Some users suggest bringing a letter from the company to justify the visit and highlight the importance of being honest with immigration about the purpose of entry.

the limits are for visa excemption on land only

Do a zoom interview
Neil ********
If it’s not the last Interview then they should accommodate a zoom call and then if they want to progress to the final step then you can fly over.

only twice that’s not a problem I did 8 times last year with no visa

They want you to fly to Thailand for an interview. Will they pay your costs to do this? Seems they couldn't care less about what it will cost you.

Seems a lot for the company to be asking of you. Are you sure you want to work with a company that seems to be unreasonable?
Michael *******
It isn't all black and white. Just because some people manage it doesn't mean everybody can. It's good to take precautions and hope for the best.

there is a non employed business visa that's designed for things like conventions and meetings, but it's extremely difficult to acquire and it is valid for a limited time.

you will need a whole lot of documents from the company you're going to see and a letter from them stating you will not be paid when you are there and are expected to support yourself.

yes....i think thr interviewing company will find that a lot of hassle.

One issue though is if I come in on a tourist visa and tell immigration i have an interview to support my entry (as hws reasonably been suggested here) they may ask why i dont have that visa instead....

@Wells *****
I don't think they will. It will kind of depend what your plans are post interview. If you're just coming in for the interview and leaving shortly thereafter I don't see it being an issue

yes...an interview is obviously not paid work.

Nevertheless to say (and prove) I have an interview seems a good reason to let me in....but also could maybe be a reason for them to be fussy about visa type.

:/

. Immigration know that if your job interview is successful,and you get the job, you are required by imm law to leave the country to apply for a B visa through your employer and reenter on it to start working(+work permit) An interview is NOT work.
David ********
@John *********
they probably won't ask but if they do and you say you're here for an interview, it could be a problem
David ********
@Wells *****
if you are coming on a tourist visa, you can't accept any form of work. Paid or unpaid is forbidden. If you rolled up to immigration on a tourist visa and told them you had an interview, it's highly likely you would be refused entry.

If you are coming on a tourist visa, the only correct answer you could give would be you are a tourist and you are only here to holiday.
Tony *******
It's called an I-Visa, Interview- Visa.
Adrien **********
Meh, they might ask you question but just show them thevemails or chat. You are allowed by air, it is up to them and no reason they stop you.
Luc ************
There's no restriction by air. I did 7 visits in 2018. And 3 or 4 every other year..

just fly in and get a 30 days visa exempt>

NO problem
John **********
Get an official letter from the company inviting you for the interview.

yes, will ask them for this. Thanks.

what you might encounter, is sniffer dogs when you go back
Steven ***************
Bring evidence of a job interview with you on arrival , so you can show them if they question you. If your prospective employer refuses to supply you with something stating it in writing, then you have to maybe reconsider. Just my opinion.
Richard *********
get a visa exempt< ur not lying or misrepresenting yourself at all 🙂

trust me, 36 years of in and out of thailand, u will have zero problems>

just make sure u have an onward or return ticket if ur going for a visa exempt
Aaron *******
@Steven **************
Not a good idea, if coming in as a tourist. Maybe denied for misrepresentation.
Steven ***************
@Aaron ******
. Well until they invent an " apply for a job visa" what other options to enter does he have ?? Being honest with immigration is a good start... you have a better option?
Aaron *******
@Steven **************
That's my point, you are not being honest with immigration, if coming in on a Tourist visa, but are actually applying for a job. Everyone knows how picky Thailand is about foreigners working in Thailand.

yes.. waa thinking of that. Thanks

You will be fine, many people enter 12 times per year with no problem.

However I would refuse to pay for the flight myself. Strange they're not interviewing you online for at least the 1st interview.
Adam *****
I guess you could get a Non B if you're worried, but I don't think it should be an issue. How long were your previous stays, and were they consecutive?
Jessica ******
Are they paying for your flight? That seems a bit much for the first interview.
Alex *******
Wells Paul It seems to be quite a bad sign that they are not willing to pay for the airfare and are also refusing an online call. Most of the time interviews in these constellations do not have a positive end for the applicant. But you of course need to know yourself how important this is to you and how much you are willing to pay for this. To the employer this would also come across as pretty desperate if you forgive me for saying.

Only 2 by air thats nothing. Jump on a plane and head over

Really? Even though 2 by land also?

I have read rhat if you have been in and out a bunch of times in same year they deem you a visa runner and turn you away... ?

Thanks for the reply by the way.

hi...can I ask...did you always just tell immigration you were there for tourism or did you ever go for an interview and let immigrarion know?

There have been suggestions here that if I tell immigration it is for an interview it may help.

(But also suggestions it may be a bad thing to say)
Franklin ***********
@Wells *****
never. I was never even asked why i was visiting.
James **********
@Wells *****
bad to tell information that you don't have to.

Agree, Never offer information only answer direct questions

I have a long term visa now but previously came every 2 weeks visa exempt from Australia never got stopped but always had return flight booked.

There is no law stating how many air entries one can do. Have a exit fwd flight booked to show them if they ask
