Can I Extend My Visa After Automatic Extension Ends?

Does the amnesty count as an extension? I know someone who is convinced that he can still extend his visa as he hasn`t done before. I did tell him to wait and see but be prepared to leave.

you can LEAVE thailand (you have always been able to LEAVE) but you're not getting back in any time soon and none of the thai consulates in nearby countries are open and the land borders are closed to foreigners entering SO I'd say IF you wanna run to another country to buy a visa, providing you can find a country to go to, you need to plan on being there a good long while :)
