Can I extend my tourist visa in Thailand after the amnesty period?

Jul 14, 2020
I arrived here on December 5th and extended my 30 days to 60 days on January 2th.

In February i left the country and got a 60 days tourist visa valid until april 7th that i was planning to extend but then the amnesty was granted.

Am i allowed extend for 30 extra days.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the possibility of extending a tourist visa after entering Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa that was already extended and subsequently benefited from an amnesty. Comments from the community indicate mixed experiences with extensions under these circumstances, with suggestions to visit local immigration offices for definitive answers.

Jean-Kristophe that will NOT be possible according the the immigration that spoke with Monday, not even if you are on a 2 or 6 month multi entery turist visa it will be possiple as your a on the amasty stay. A turist visa can ONLY be extended if done before the last day of the stamp on your entery visa. So your only hope is if a miracle will happen before

that the immigration also told me would not happen but let's cross fingers ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿค

that is mirroring the messages I am getting from people all over the country, they are being turned away and told to 'wait for the announcement' :O

yes still a small hope left but I wouldn't count on it too much, my flight ticket โœˆ๏ธ booked if I don't get a last minut solution ๐Ÿค

I think you have a better chance of success because you actually had a 60 day tourist visa entry that went to amnesty versus comin' in on a 30 day visa exempt.

It seems that the people on visa exempt entries are being denied getting their 30 day extension if they went on amnesty. I honestly don't know if you would or wouldn't get it from a tourist visa entry that went to amnesty.

Good Luck with it, and if you do get it can you report back?

I have already asked about the same in immigration this week and immigration confirmed NOT possibly extent 2 or 6 months turist visas if on amasty.

What if those 6 month visas are not expired yet and only the current stamp is on amnesty?

@Zach ******
they said to me if you have not extended before your stamp experied then you are on amasty overstay and that cannot be extended. Please go back to your country and come back another time, was his exact words โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ ๐Ÿค

There are conflicting reports about it. Some people reported success and some said they couldn't do it.

I'd say I see a trip to your immigration office in your near future. With 70+ offices it seems they are doing what ever they want :(
