How Can I Extend My Stay in Thailand After April 30th Without Overstaying My Visa?

So I can to Thailand on a 2 month single entry visa at the beginnings December. Since then I have done 1 visa run to Burma and have done 2 visa extensions at the immigration. My most recent extension runs out on the 27th April. So I done have any way to extend and I can’t do visa run even if the borders were open.

The way I see things at the moment is I can stay til the 30th and won’t get charged over stay. Once the “state of emergency” and restrictions have been lifted - likely to be at the end of the month (30th April). I will have 7 days to get out of the country because the airport will be up and running again.

Is that right or is there anyway of me staying longer? People were talking about getting letter from the Uk embassy and then going to immigration to get further extensions. I’m presuming that now not possible and been superseded by the ruling that foreigners are allowed to stay til the 30th.

Any advise more than welcome, especially if I have got the situation wrong at all anywhere. Thanks.

PS Aren’t flights leaving Thailand after the 30th going to be extortionate? With the airlines knowing that everyone has to leave Thailand within 7 days or else!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about staying in Thailand beyond their visa expiry on April 30th, following a series of visa runs and extensions. They seek clarity on whether it's possible to secure further extensions or if they must leave by the airport's expected reopening. Commenters confirm that due to the visa amnesty, they can stay until April 30th without incurring overstays but caution that there is no grace period after that date. They recommend leaving promptly, as options for extension no longer exist.

You came for a 30 day visit, somewhere down the line you changed your mind, my advise is to find a visa that allows you to stay a longer period during the time of amnesty. As you already find out, living in Thailand using short time stays is not going to work.

I'm closing comments.

1. We don't know what will happen after April 30th. If you are on the visa amnesty, leave now. The visa amnesty is *NOT* used to stay in Thailand longer, but instead to give you time to leave Thailand.

2. Flights are still departing from Thailand to most countries.

Let's cut through the fat:

>My most recent extension runs out on the 27th April

Because of the Amnesty, you're good until April 30th.

>The way I see things at the moment is I can stay til the 30th and won’t get charged over stay

Correct!

>will have 7 days to get out of the country because the airport will be up and running again.

Not correct; there has been no "7 day grace period" announced.

>Is that right or is there anyway of me staying longer?

The extension of stay based on the COVID-19 no longer exist, and the embassies are not issuing those letters.

>Aren’t flights leaving Thailand after the 30th going to be extortionate

The price of a ticket out of Thailand isn't visa advice, sorry.

My advice: Wait until around late April and see what may be announced.

@Benjamin *****
So I’ve got to leave Thailand on the 30th - yes? What if the flights are overbooked (which they will be) and I can’t leave by land? Surely they can charge over stay then....du think they’ll give anymore extensions or “grace”?
