Hello! I'm planning to go to Thailand with Phuket Sandbox program.

Seems I have 2 simple options to get there:

A- Visa exemption (Spanish Passport) and get a 30 day stay + 30 + 30 days extension.

B- Apply for Tourist visa (60 days) - More paperwork required.

My questions would what would be the easier route to get a longer Visa later to stay in Thailand (Im a digital nomad so I don't have intent to apply for a work permit)

Thanks for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering two options to enter Thailand under the Phuket Sandbox program: a visa exemption with a potential 60-day stay (30 days plus extensions) or applying for a tourist visa for a 60-day stay. They seek advice on which route would be easier for securing a longer stay as a digital nomad, noting they have no intentions of applying for a work permit. The response clarifies that the digital nomad visa does not exist, and suggests considering a Non-B visa or an elite visa for extended stays.

On a visa exempt, you are granted a 30 day entry. You can extend it ONCE for another 30 days, giving you a total of 60 days for 1,900 THB. There is CURRENTLY a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, however, I don’t expect it to continue for too much longer.

There is no “digital nomad” visa. If you want to work in Thailand, you’ll need a Non-B visa. If you want to stay a long time in Thailand, you can get an elite visa that lets you stay between 5 to 20 years, starting at 600K THB. You can contact the Thai elite people at
