Hello! I am here on a TV, just completed my Phuket Sandbox and am looking to extend my stay, hopefully several months. What is the process for doing this? Thanks for the advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your stay in Thailand after completing the Phuket Sandbox, you can initially apply for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office for a fee of 1,900 THB. Following that, you may have the option to apply for a 60-day extension related to COVID-19 restrictions, but you typically need to secure the 30-day extension first. It's recommended to be cautious about discussing online work as it falls into a grey area of legality. Always check with local immigration for the most current procedures, especially concerning COVID-19 regulations.
Just a heads up to not tell anyone you work online. It's both not legal and not illegal, so a large grey area. But people have definitely been removed from the country for doing so in the past.
Currently they are selling the 60 day “unable to travel due to Covid” extension until 27th September. After that it’s anyone’s guess as to whether they’ll extend that date. Most offices require you to get the “regular” 30 day extension before you can apply for the 60 day one.
Initially you extend your TR visa at a local immigration office for 30 days. After that it depends on other factors, like your age, if you want to work or volunteer or study.
Thanks, Stuart! I am an international teacher with an online job in Myanmar. I want to stay in Thailand until Myanmar lets me back in! I am 55 years old and I am willing to study Thai. I've been looking for Thai language schools around Phuket Town and the closest one I can see is in Kathu. Do you know of any others?
Yes! So, extend for 30 days after my initial 60 days from when my VISA was stamped when I entered and then sign up for language classes. Does that sound about right?
yes although you’ll need a certain number of days left on your current stamp in order to convert to the Ed extension. I’m not sure if it’s 15 or 21, but the school you choose should confirm what they need.
