Not necessarily visa related but maybe someone can help.

On day 28 of my sandbox stay. Can to be with my Thai partner who lives here. Both vaccinated. Looking to travel outside Phuket for a few days to see family. I know I am fine, but as a local she thinks she may need to quarantine in Phang Gna. Off subject a little but if anyone knows for sure

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about traveling outside of Phuket during their 28th day of the sandbox program, alongside their vaccinated Thai partner. Although the sandbox program initially allows for a 15-day stay, the user is under the impression they can leave after this period while still adhering to local COVID-19 travel regulations. One comment clarifies that after completing the sandbox period, travelers can return to Phuket or visit other regions, provided those regions are open for travel. However, they mention potential quarantine requirements for locals depending on their destination.

The sandbox is only for 15 days. After 15 days, assuming you have two negative COVID-19 tests, you automatically leave the Sandbox. You can either stay in Phuket, OR leave Phuket and go elsewhere, depending on your plans and if the region you want to visit is open.

Assuming there's no restrictions (think Isan), you can go from Phuket and return. People who entered the Phuket via the sandbox can return to Phuket, however Phuket is still closed for domestic tourism.

I thought you could only return to Phuket airport to leave? You are saying you can come back after traveling elsewhere in Thailand and stay again????

"Phuket’s restrictions will stay in place until at least the end of the month. This includes closing off the island to visitors, with exceptions. This move is in response to the rising Covid cases in the region.

The exception to the rule is Phuket residents and visitors associated with the “Sandbox” scheme."

Interesting, but seems risky to either get stuck outside if they change restrictions with no warning, or a good way to import Covid cases again.
