I have been searching here and on the internet. I am on a TV right now valid until January, 31 2021.

Can I go now to the immigration office in Koh Samui and get an extension for 30 days, or do I need to wait until the end? Also will the extension add the days to the end or will it be extended by 30 days from when I apply for the extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on extending their visa, valid until January 31, 2021, asking if they can apply for a 30-day extension at the Koh Samui immigration office before the expiration date. Various commenters confirm that applying early is permissible and beneficial, noting that extensions add to the current 'admitted to stay' stamp, ensuring no loss of days. One user advises considering a 60-day extension due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, emphasizing the importance of applying by January 30, 2021.

Better you ask the Immigration where you stay!!!

I'm assuming you are not on a TV, but on a tourist visa. I recommend trying to apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. You'll get an extra 60 days, for the same cost of a 30 day extension of stay. The last day you can apply to this is January 30, 2021.

I heard you now need a reason why you can't fly back. What would be a good reason?

That is what I did

You can go now, you wont lose any days, the extention is added to your existing 'admitted to stay' stamp.

Probably sooner rather then later, especially if they start kicking tourists off the island, which I think phangan and possibly tao are considering doing

Go now

There is no downside to applying for the extension early. They add on the days to your current stamp.

You can go now,I went 25 days before my Visa Expired

interesting. But 26 Mar is strange. From 29 Jan, 60 days should take you to 30 March... This was at Samui?

@Ma**
looked at your stamps better, you should have received 29 Jan not 26 initially. We actually went to samui same day as you, but got 29 Jan expiry

@Ma**
yes - it would finish 29 Jan like all of them. And the next extension should be 60 days from then

Wait until the working day before
