Recently went to samui immigration for extension on a tourist visa. Was expecting 60 days but they said I would first need to do a 30 day extension. My 30 day extension will end after the January 29 covid extension deadline. Will I be eligible for the 60 day extension if I go to extend before January 29th?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original inquiry is about the eligibility for a 60-day extension of a tourist visa after receiving a 30-day extension, particularly concerning the COVID-related policies and deadlines. The responses suggest that applicants can extend their visa if they apply while having 30 days or less remaining on their current visa. However, it is important to check specific immigration policies, as some offices may restart the extension period upon application, instead of adding it to the existing visa period.
Most immigration offices allow you to apply for a new extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp
As long as you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp when you apply you should be able to get the covid extension
BUT
to stop people from doing that what some immigration offices are telling people is, if you apply for the covid extension it starts the date you apply, it is not added to your current stamps expiration.
Go see what they say, you're out nothing by asking
Yes on TR visa the first extension is 30 days. Normally after that(pre covid) you would have to leave. The 60 day extension is unable to leave due to covid no flights etc etc
