My six-month stay (180 days) is coming to an end. Is the only way to leave Thailand by plane or can I take a bus to a neighboring country and then return to Thailand? Will I then receive another 180-day visa stamp (I have a DTV visa)?
Answer summary
You can leave Thailand by land (bus or other means) to a neighboring country and return without any issues. Many expats have successfully done border runs this way, receiving a new 180-day visa stamp upon re-entry. Make sure the border selected allows same-day return, and remember that different modes of transportation (car, train, motorbike) are also viable options for border runs. There is a general understanding in the community that both air and land exits are acceptable for visa purposes.

Cool****
You can even walk out to other country and come back. No problem
Yep no prob, I think we don't even need to go out once a year, to check but emigration is enough one time out of 2...but take it with a pinch of salt and ask for it at the emigration
