TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a 30-day visa exemption can lead to a 1-year extension based on marriage, but it involves several steps. First, you need to convert the exemption into a Non-O visa by applying for it in-country before the 30 days expire. Following that, you must meet certain financial requirements and apply for a year-long extension before your Non-O visa expires.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.

you left a few steps out of your process and you can't go straight from a 30 day visa exempt or a tourist visa entry to a year extension without first getting the 90 day Non-O visa

Here's how the process works:

1 -you come in on a 30 day visa exempt entry,

2 - you get the funds in a thai bank account in your name

3 - you go to the immigration office when you have 15 days or more left on your current stamp and apply for the in country 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht

4 - it goes under review for 14 days

5 - you go back and get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day entry stamp inked in

6 - you wait until your money has been in the bank for 2 months and you have 30 days or less left on your new 90 day stamp

7 - you go apply for a year marriage extension for 1900baht

8 - you get a 30 day under consideration stamp (during that time the immigration office can send officers to your house to make sure the marriage is real and talk to your neighbors)

9 - you go back on the date the under consideration stamp runs out and get the year extension inked in.

If you enter on a 30 day exempt, you can purchase an in-country non-o visa based on marriage and then get a one year extension of stay based on marriage

I believe they will sell it. I know they have a Facebook page and a website. I’m not at my computer so I can’t give you the link 😞
