Hey everyone. Quick Question here.

I have an American passport and i am on the last page now.

My current passport is stamped September 29th. After extending 30 days at Immigration.

I am flying out of the country on October 5th, but I would also like to get a new passport which takes two weeks from the US Embassy.

Here is my thought process, and i just want to make sure it's kosher.

I go to immigration and get a 7 day decline on my passport for 1900 baht. That gives me until October 7th.

During this time, i also apply for a new passport at US Embassy. That takes two weeks to arrive, so i should have it before my flight, and i fly out on my new passport, but my old passport has the proper stamps to show immigration.

Is this the right thought process here, can anyone more knowledgable about this process than me help out here???

Ah, Okay. Got it. Perfect. Thanks for the tip!

Sorry. Consulate or embassy takes 10 days to 2 weeks. My experience was 8 days. Your result may vary. If you use Thai mail express and US express return ($32) express you are adding 10 days on return.

To clarify,
@Mary *******
give it to the consulate? The US Embassy website states two weeks shipping multiple times?? I can understand a day or two more, but i should expect 10 additional days???

If you give it to the consulate they put it in the diplomatic pouch which goes daily. Express mail will add 10 days to the delivery time. All express mail languishes in Bangkok customs for 10 days minimum.

If all goes according the book, this could work out. It is a little late planning so keep your fingers crossed that nothing, such a a few day delay of your passport comes in between.
