Hey guys. I need to get clarity on a matter. My passport is falling apart and immigration rejected my 6 month non B Ed visa extention but gave me an extention until the 21st of November to get a new passport and then get my 6 months Ed visa extention. I have have to fly out to South Africa to apply for my passport as trying to get it through my embassy here will take 6months. Here is my concern and what I need advice on. I would not be able to come in on the same passport and will need to come in on my new passport. Should I get stamped out on my old visa so that I can return on my Ed visa or should I not bother and come back in on my new passport and get a 60day tourist visa and just go sort out my Non B at chaeng wattanna once I've returned. Im not 100% sure I'll get my passport before my current visa expires on the 21st of November.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing issues with their deteriorating passport and a rejected extension for a 6-month Education (ED) visa in Thailand. They have been granted a temporary extension until November 21 to procure a new passport from South Africa, where they will apply for it due to local processing times. They seek advice on whether to exit Thailand with their old visa and return on the ED visa or to apply for a 60-day tourist visa while planning to sort out their Non-B visa later.
