What should I do about my ED visa and new passport situation in Thailand?

Hey guys. I need to get clarity on a matter. My passport is falling apart and immigration rejected my 6 month non B Ed visa extention but gave me an extention until the 21st of November to get a new passport and then get my 6 months Ed visa extention. I have have to fly out to South Africa to apply for my passport as trying to get it through my embassy here will take 6months. Here is my concern and what I need advice on. I would not be able to come in on the same passport and will need to come in on my new passport. Should I get stamped out on my old visa so that I can return on my Ed visa or should I not bother and come back in on my new passport and get a 60day tourist visa and just go sort out my Non B at chaeng wattanna once I've returned. Im not 100% sure I'll get my passport before my current visa expires on the 21st of November.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing issues with their deteriorating passport and a rejected extension for a 6-month Education (ED) visa in Thailand. They have been granted a temporary extension until November 21 to procure a new passport from South Africa, where they will apply for it due to local processing times. They seek advice on whether to exit Thailand with their old visa and return on the ED visa or to apply for a 60-day tourist visa while planning to sort out their Non-B visa later.

Take a look at the Thai Embassy website in South Africa, prepare all the documents to apply there for a new Non Immigrant ED visa if you go school or for the Non Immigrant B visa if you like to work. Get your new passport, apply for the visa with the new passport and make your way back into Thailand.

sorry I was misinformed before. I'm just on a Ed Visa. There is no form of work visa in the works nor wil there be any time soon.

As for my Ed-Visa, I was on my first 3 months and went to get my 6 months extention and that's when they turned it down due to the condition of my passport. They gave me a 1 month extention on my Ed-visa until the 21st of November

Are you planning on continuing your classes after you return from South Africa?

Here's my questions:

1. For your ED visa, do you currently have a valid visa ("The sticker"), or an extension of stay ("The stamp").

2. Are you planning on canceling your ED visa, and get a Non-B visa (for employment) when you arrive back to Thailand?
