TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether they can extend their multi-entry visa before departing to Bali for potentially six months, expressing an interest in speaking with administrators for further advice. Comments mention limitations on using different passports, potential extensions and re-entry permits, and the importance of determining the exact type of visa held.

Depending on what immigration office you use (as not all can do it) when you have about a month left on your current 60 day stamp (any of the 60 day stamps or 30 day extensions from those stamps you can apply for a 90 day in country Non-O visa based on being over 50 (retirement) by meeting the financial requirements INSIDE the country (meaning you bank 800K baht in a thai bank in your name only and prove it was transferred in from outside the country).

Now just so you know, you apply for the 90 day Non-O visa based on being over 50 by meeting the requirements in Jomtien THEN you wait for 14 days while the application is under consideration (and you cannot leave the country during this time) then you go back and get the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp inked into your passport, THEN you wait until you have 30 days or less left on that 90 day stamp and apply for a year extension again by meeting the requirements.

The requirement for banked money when applying for the in country 90 day Non-O visa in Jomtien is that the 800K baht doesn't need to be in the bank any length of time BUT you do need to prove it was transferred in from outside the country.

The requirements for banked money when applying for the year extension at Jomtien (and all the other offices) is that the 800K baht be in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months BEFORE you apply for the extension

How about stating what type of "multi-entry visa" you have?

I mean is it a 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa, is it a year long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant type visa where you bounce out and back in every 90 days or a year-long, multi-entry O-A visa or what?

1. Using the "new passport" or "different passport" trick doesn't work anymore. They cross reference the information based on your biometrics, so get new eyes, a new face, and new fingerprints as well.

2. You may be able to get an extension, and a re-entry permit, but I believe that extension would only be good for 1 month (I think). If you'll be back in 1 months, that'll work, otherwise, you're wasting your money.

3. I believe you can get a new SETV in Bali, which would be good for 2 months, extended by another month.

4. If you want another METV, you'll have to return to Aus. No consulate close by sells an METV, AND if Thai immigration at the airport believes you're abusing the system, you'll have to stay at the Immigration Detention Center until you get a flight back. See

post from today for more information about rejections.

My advice: Get the right visa for your stay.
